This 8 minute short video is an introduction to my fully autonomous garden irrigation system that uses sensor readings and future weather forecasts to decide when to turn the watering system on and off. The project is based entirely on AWS IoT and AWS IoT Analytics and the only software that isn’t yet based on AWS is the micro-controller code. In a future project I’ll be migrating that to Amazon FreeRTOS which wasn’t available to me when I first began dabbling with the ESP8266 and ESP32 micro-controllers.
This is my first project to use the new scheduled container execution feature that was launched just a few days ago at the AWS Anaheim Summit and Jupytercon 2018 in New York City.
